NEP The Netherlands, along with their partners at Discovery, have been recognized for their work on the OlympicWinter Games PyeongChang 2018using the NEP Remote Commentary solution. This solution was used to handle the content localization by automatically detecting and fixing lip sync offsets between the video and audio feeds of sports commentators sharing live-action highlights from multiple venues, and to fix incorrect formats and wrong audio channel mapping. Once the audio was automatically mixed and synchronized, NEP encoded the video and audio feeds to distribute the content onto the Eurosport Player platform, the direct-to-consumer streaming service from Eurosport, Discovery’s leading sports brand. As a result, sports fans could watch their favorite sport with localized commentary for 13concurrent event feeds with up to 9 local languages per event feed.
