NEP Group, the leading media technology partner for content creators worldwide, proudly announced today that Swetha Sridhar, Software Application Engineer at Broadcast Sports International, was honored with the R&D Engineer Award at the Rise Awards 2023.

The Rise Awards celebrate the phenomenal talent, skills, expertise and achievements of extraordinary women across the broadcast technology industry. Sridhar accepted the award on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 during the awards ceremony hosted at Troxy, a music venue in London.

Awards were given out in 16 different categories across operations, engineering, marketing, pubic relations, sales and more. Sridhar was announced as a finalist for the award in September at the IBC Show in Amsterdam, along with three of her NEP colleagues who were shortlisted in other categories, including:

• Helen Jeffrey, International Sales Director, NEP Connect – Shortlisted, Sales Award

• Jeremina Akrofi-Daniels, Multi-Skilled Operator, NEP BowTie – Shortlisted, Rising Star Award

• Kathleen Gray, Senior Broadcast Engineer, NEP U.K. – Shortlisted, Production Support Engineer Award

Sam Harrison, Finance Director, NEP Connect presented the Technical Operations Award, which was sponsored by NEP.

The Rise Awards 2023 included a record-breaking 400 applicants showcasing exceptionally accomplished women throughout the broadcast technology industry. Sridhar was selected by the judging panel comprised of more than 50 industry experts.

Upon accepting the award, Sridhar said: “I am humbled and proud to stand with Rise in promoting gender diversity in the broadcasting world. If there’s a woman out there unsure about pursuing a career in media, let this be proof that the industry has at least a room full of professionals ready to pave the way and guide her. Here’s to breaking barriers and shaping a more inclusive future in broadcasting.”
