The NEP Global Inclusion Council

Our Global Inclusion Council, comprising over 30 Inclusion Champions worldwide, collaborates quarterly to drive measurable progress, share innovative strategies, and prioritize initiatives that foster an inclusive culture across NEP.

Community Engagement

NEP actively partners with communities and like-minded organizations to drive social impact, reflecting our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

Championing Women

Building on successful initiatives like Norway's 'Ladies of NEP,' we are launching a global women's network to empower female talent and promote gender diversity across all levels of our organization.

We believe that creating an inclusive culture and championing employee diversity is the right thing to do for our business, our customers and our people. Doing these things enables us to better serve all by bringing our best selves to work every day, with diversity of thought and different perspectives that spark innovation, the lifeblood of our business.

Building a Better Tomorrow

We are embracing new ways to make NEP an even better place to work, so every employee has access to all that NEP has to offer. We have built a solid foundation on which we can grow:

  • Identified inclusion as a global value company wide.
  • Formed a Global Inclusion Council with "Inclusion Champions" from across NEP to guide our global efforts, identify ways to improve our culture, and commit to driving local, meaningful change.
  • Examined All NEP policies with an inclusive lens – and created new policies and principles to outline expectations for employees and to support their personal career development.
  • Launched new recruiting strategies to widen our talent pool and attract more diverse talent.
  • Conducted inclusive leadership training for over 500 executive, senior and line managers.
  • Shared stories of our people and how they bring unique talents and perspectives to their roles.

regional initiatives

  • Americas: We offer two industry-leading apprentice programs for Broadcast Engineers and Drivers, respectively, and are seeing progress in attracting more female apprentices. All managers are required to complete a "Respect in the Workplace" curriculum, which includes "Unconscious Bias" training.
  • Australia & New Zealand: A Skills Development Fund Grant has been awarded to NEP Australia to provide practical broadcast learning experiences for eight trainees, of which 50% must meet a gender diversity requirement.
  • Europe: In the UK, NEP was an official 2023-2024 sponsor of Rise, an advocacy organization dedicated to fostering gender diversity within the broadcast and media technology sector. Additionally, NEP arranged the event "Women in TV Sports" to bring together Finnish TV Sports production professionals to share experiences and create a platform for women to network.
  • Middle East & Asia: We are rolling out internship programs for young engineers in Singapore, contributing to skill development in the community and building a talent pipeline for NEP. In India, we have launched the NEP India Training Academy to build a workforce that reflects society, striving to hire 50% female and 50% male trainee engineers.

Looking Ahead

At NEP, we are steadfast in our commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion across all facets of our global operations. Building upon our established foundation, we plan to implement the following initiatives to foster a more inclusive and equitable workplace:

  • Expansion of the Global Inclusion Council
    We will broaden the scope of our Global Inclusion Council by increasing the number of Inclusion Champions from various regions and departments.
